Remembering our friend, Cliff Varah

Ponteland Rugby Club is saddened to learn of the passing of Cliff Varah, at the age of 98.

Cliff was a valued member of our club community and served as Club Secretary in the late 1980s. Many will remember him as a familiar and welcoming face on the touchline, proudly supporting his son Iain during his playing days, and later cheering on his grandson Jordan through mini, junior and senior rugby at the club.

Cliff was part of the fabric of Ponteland Rugby Club for many years, and our thoughts are with the Varah family and friends at this difficult time.

Cliff’s funeral will take place at West Road Crematorium on Wednesday 11th March at 11:15am.

Rest in peace, Cliff.
