Pont 2nds v Novos

Pont 2nds v Novos
Cold day Novos were straight into the game Pont defending well but a dubious try for Novos 5-0
Pont were straight back on it though and some great pressure and good driving sees Rob Over for a try 5-7
With the rain lashing down Pont forwards battened down the hatches, Ponts forward were up for it and a good forwards try from Dan Elsander plus conv from Carruthers 5-14
Second half starts and some good running from Sean put Pont in control but Novos were having none of it and were straight back on it but great work from Pont in their own 22 for 5 mins finally cleared.
Novos were straight back though again making it 12-14
Pont then had a good 10 mins of phased controlled rugby culminating with a great chase from young James cherlton sees Pont upto Novos 10m Line but they could not capitalise
Pont kept the pressure on , young Carruthers squealing the orders had the desired effect , Matt, Harry and Scotty with the rest of the forwards kept Novos on the back foot and it paid with a good Ping try 12-19
Ko again and Pont were back on it , some good work from Ponts wingers James and James TA kept Novos tight in their half and with the last play of the game Stromsey kept the pressure on forced the error and touched down, 12-24 final score
Great game in bad conditions , honest rugby at its best every player playing their part
