Three Ponteland volunteers have been recognised at the end of season Northumberland RFU Volunteer event.

At the traditional end of season Volunteer event held at Kingston Park, three Ponteland members were recognised for there contribution to the club and county.

Wes Dixon received a Presidents award for his significant contribution to the county and in particular his recent work as Players Welfare Liaison Officer.

The President said of Wes:
"Wes Dixon, I feel, carries out an invaluable role on behalf of Northumberland Rugby Union as Players Welfare Liaison Officer. Whenever an injury occurs which results in a player, from either side, going to hospital, Wes follows up to ascertain the extent of the injury and keeps in touch with the familiy on our behalf sometimes for a few days, weeks, months or even years."

Dan Whaley was presented with an award for his contribution as Ponteland's fixture secretary.

Paul Dobson received an award as the Ponteland nominated Club volunteer of the season.

Ponteland RFC would like to congratulate all 51 recipients of awards at the ceremony held prior to the Northumberland v Eastern Counties match at the home of Newcastle Falcons.
